Last week I wrote shortly about a sketching exercise, in which you draw several different versions of the same model. At the moment I am working on a project for which I need to create several designs, that are somehow a collection, a family of illustrations. Meaning that they should not be too different from each other and have some sort of a common theme and/or style.
Project is still in its early phases and I am only trying to figure out, what direction should I go here. I needed to get started and decided to use the earlier mentioned sketching exercise. I thought that it was a nice way for me to start producing material without planning it too much. I wanted to get myself into this free flow of creating. Then I am more present in the making and not thinking too much about, how I want the end result to look like.
So once again I bought the nicest flowers from our grocery store and painted them all week. Managed to create a quite versatile collection, which I will now continue working on in ps.
From all these sketches my absolute favourite is the one in the middle. Love the randomness of the watercolours and the black background, which makes the colors pop! I think I will be making more of this type of sketching for this mystery project of mine, that I will reveal to you later.
Wishing you a nice week and hope you got some ideas and inspiration from my blog!
